HISTORY
The history of O'Carroll's Cove can be traced back to 1950, when Frank Monaghan, a local businessman, established a mushroom cultivating and packing business in the same location where O'Carroll's Cove Beach Bar & Restaurant is now situated. Frank Monaghan subsequently built himself a retirement home next door and a bar & dining room was established in approx. 1951.
Over the years, The Cove as it is known locally was owned by various others until in 1984 when Catherine and her late husband Tom O'Carroll purchased the property and the rest is history...
In 2011, a complete refurbishment of the premises was undertaken, completed in only 11 weeks. In 2014, the building work for Maisie Ryan's bar (next door) was completed.
